AAA Auto Insurance Review

Written by Michael Browne

AAA Auto Insurance ReviewCompany Overview:  AAA Auto Insurance is the car insurance branch of the American Auto Association, the country's most popular motor club. This insurance is only available to AAA members. AAA is also  known as the Auto Club of Southern California and referred to colloquially as Triple A.

Auto Insurance Products: AAA's auto insurance is limited to private passenger auto insurance, though it offers  personal umbrella coverage, homeowners coverage, and watercraft coverage from separate business units. Two of AAA's special auto insurance features are 12-month policies (the standard is 6) and an accident forgiveness program.

Customer Service: AAA is a bit old-school when it comes to customer service. The website provides a toll-free phone number. There's also a quote engine but it's separate.

Consumer Satisfaction:  AAA is not BBB accredited but it has earned an A+ rating, based partly on its longevity and its history of response to complaints. Viewpoints.com users give it 4.09 of 5 stars, and 87 percent of them recommend the company to other people.

Connectivity: AAA's auto insurance site is part of the overall Triple A site (www.aaa.com), and knowing which options apply solely to insurance and which do not is not always clear, but information is generally well presented, and customer service information is easy to find.

Is there an app for that? The AAA Roadside Assistance mobile phone app includes breakdown options and will feed to the insurance database for policyholders.
