Company Overview: Progressive Insurance, or, more correctly, the Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, has been in the industry since 1937, and has been innovative since day one, when it opened the first drive-in claims office. It was also the first company to offer reduced rates for low-risk drivers, and to show its competitors' rates on the company website, for comparison purposes.
Auto Insurance Products: In addition to private passenger auto and motorcycle insurance, Progressive also insures RVs boats, mobile homes and snowmobiles. The company also offers homeowners and condo/renters insurance.

Consumer Satisfaction: While Progressive's headquarters are not BBB accredited, it has been rated A+ (the highest possible rating) due, in part, to being proactive about responding to complaints. Consumer reviews at Viewpoints.com give the company 3.96 out of 5 stars, with 80% of respondents recommending the company to others.
Connectivity: Progressive's website (www.progressive.com) is simple but comprehensive, with options for Insurance Choices, Claims, and Customer Service in the main navigation menu. Everything from policy management to claims filing can be done online, though there is 24/7 phone access as well.
Is there an app for that? Progressive offers several smartphone apps, including Progressive Mobile, which is a claims and information interface, Flo-isms, which is a sort of fan-app for the character in many of their television ads, and Route-Rageous, the driving/safety game.
