SafeCo Auto InsuranceCompany Overview:  While SafeCo does business under its own name, it's also part of the Liberty Mutual Group, so can lean on its parent company's financial stability. SafeCo has been offering private passenger auto insurance for roughly eighty-five years, and now has 3,000 agents around the country.

Auto Insurance Products: SafeCo's auto insurance products include private passenger auto coverage, motorcycle coverage, and watercraft coverage. Optional endorsements include pet coverage, emergency assistance, and new vehicle replacement coverage.  

Customer Service: SafeCo offers an array of options to file a claim, contact an agent, or find an agent on its website, but it's worth noting that most SafeCo policies are sold by independent agents, who aren't necessarily directly affiliated with the company.

Consumer Satisfaction: As a member of the Liberty Mutual Group, SafeCo benefits from its parent company's accreditation with the Better Business Bureau, and their A rating, though individual agencies may have different ratings. Members of have given SafeCo 3.42 stars (out of a possible 5), with 70% of them willing to recommend SafeCo to others.

Connectivity: SafeCo's website isn't flashy, but it does offer a comprehensive insurance experience. Customers can find agents, file claims, or log into their accounts for more specific transactions. As well, there's a bank of information under the header "Insurance 101."

Is there an app for that? SafeCo offers a free smartphone app that helps customers with claims issues and also allows them to manage their accounts.
