While we tend to focus on rates and regulations, it’s nice to post insurance news that isn’t all about dollars once in a while, which is why we’re really glad to be able to share with you that Progressive Insurance has been named to the “50 Out Front for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work” list by Diversity MBA magazine. This is an annual list of the best companies where women and people of color can pursue positions in leadership.
Responding to their inclusion on the list, Neil Lenane, director of employee experience at Progressive, told the press, “People with different backgrounds and experiences are critical in bringing new perspective and growth to our business. At Progressive, it’s the diversity of our people that make this a great place to work.”
Progressive was one of more than 400 of the firms on the Fortune 500 list that was evaluated by Diversity MBA based on company accountability efforts, diversity, and employee retention efforts. Specifically, this auto insurance company demonstrated a commitment to diversity that includes the placing of job advertisements in ethnically diverse publications, and with ethnically diverse job boards and professional organizations.
Representatives of the magazine said that this year’s ranking was more competitive than ever, and saw a 30 percent increase in corporate participation.
