Ratewatch: California’s Affordability Improves

The newest computations by InsWeb have been tallied, and there’s good news for California. It seems that the state, which ranked 34th in last year’s Car Insurance Affordability Index, has moved up to 29th place this year.

To develop these rankings, InsWeb, which is based in Rancho Cordova, CA, divides the median household car insurance rate by the median household income in each state and Washington, D.C.

According to this year’s list, Massachusetts remains on top, with the most affordable insurance in the nation, while Louisiana has the least affordable auto coverage.
